ShiftPro's terms of use

What you get free, what ShiftPro Premium includes, how renewal works and how to cancel. Plain language, with no surprises hidden at the bottom.

01 Acceptance

By downloading, installing or using ShiftPro you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't use the app. If you create an account or take out a subscription, acceptance is also a condition for going ahead.

02 The service

ShiftPro is an app for managing work shifts, rotas and a pay estimate. It comes in two tiers:

The estimates are not an official document. The pay figures you see in ShiftPro are calculated from the figures you enter (hourly rate, supplements, thresholds): they are an estimate, they don't replace your payslip and they have no evidential value towards your employer or third parties.

03 Your account

Creating an account is always optional: without one, ShiftPro still works, locally on your device. If you choose to create one:

04 ShiftPro Premium

ShiftPro Premium is available in three forms, sold through the App Store: an auto-renewing monthly subscription, an auto-renewing yearly subscription, or a one-off lifetime purchase (no renewal, permanent access for a single payment). The exact price, the currency and — for the two subscriptions — the length are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm: those values, not a figure written here, are the binding ones.

Auto-renewal (monthly and yearly only) — the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period for the same length, charged to your Apple payment method, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The lifetime purchase doesn't renew: it's a single payment, there's nothing to cancel and Premium access stays active for ever — on your Apple Account, and on the ShiftPro account you bought it with if you were signed in (see Restore below).

How to cancel (monthly and yearly only) — you can cancel at any time from your device's Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or from ShiftPro's Settings through the direct link to Apple's subscription management. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium access stays active until the end of the period already paid for.

Restore — if you change device, the “Restore purchases” button in ShiftPro (in the app, still in Italian: “Ripristina acquisti”) recovers a subscription that's already active or a lifetime purchase already made on your Apple Account, without paying again.

You need an account to use ShiftPro Premium — always: it's what stops anyone who picks up your phone, or uses it after you, from getting the features you pay for. For the same reason you buy while signed in: if you don't have an account yet, the purchase screen takes you to create one before paying. A purchase made while signed in stays tied to that ShiftPro account as well as to your Apple Account: to use it on another device, sign in with the same account. If you bought before having an account, just create one: at your first sign-in the purchase becomes yours and you don't lose it. If you delete your ShiftPro account you don't lose the purchase: on this device it becomes active again as soon as you create a new account. If you need to recover it elsewhere after deleting your account, write to matteo.de.min@outlook.it.

On a device with a different Apple Account — since version 1.0.8, signing in to your ShiftPro account is enough: the plan and its expiry date are recorded on our servers, so the Premium features are there even where the App Store knows nothing about that purchase. There, however, changing plan and cancelling can't be done, because they go through Apple and Apple ties them to the Apple Account you bought with: you do them from that device, or from any device signed in with that Apple Account. On a device with a different Apple Account, Settings → your name → Subscriptions does not show that subscription: there Apple only lists the subscriptions of the Apple Account in use.

05 Right of withdrawal

As a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of its conclusion, without giving any reason.

If you believe the charge doesn't match what was described, or that your consent to immediate performance wasn't properly asked for, you're still entitled to a refund: write to us, or follow Apple's procedure in the next point.

Exception for digital content supplied immediately. ShiftPro Premium gives you access to the Premium features straight away after purchase, not after 14 days. Before you confirm, Apple's purchase sheet shows the information about the right of withdrawal: that's where you state that you want immediate access and that you know that, by doing so, you lose the right of withdrawal once supply has begun. That step belongs to Apple, which is the seller: ShiftPro doesn't collect a separate confirmation.

06 Refunds

All payments go through Apple, which acts as the seller for in-app purchases: refund requests are handled through reportaproblem.apple.com or your device's Settings. ShiftPro has no access to your payment details and can't issue refunds directly.

07 Limitation of liability

08 Intellectual property

ShiftPro, its code, its design and its name remain the property of the developer. Using the app doesn't transfer any rights in them to you, beyond the personal licence to use that these terms grant you.

09 Changes

We may update these terms over time. If we make substantial changes that reduce your rights, we tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use ShiftPro after an update counts as accepting it.

10 Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law, without prejudice to the mandatory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence if it isn't Italy.
